Mazatlan Attractions
Mazatlán
offers all kinds of tourist activities, both for adults
and children. You
will never get bored for lack of things to do in
Mazatlan …. You can
go fishing, sailing, surfing, parasailing, kayaking
or shopping, you can go to restaurants or discos, play
golf or tennis, go bird watching or sightseeing. There
is something for everybody in the family.

Golf
There are 3 golf courses in Mazatlán and the
area and many hotels have tennis courts. In some, you
can even play at night, because they have good lighting.
Some private clubs are open to tourists for a fee. Those
clubs also offer classes for adults and children.
Fishing
and hunting
Because of its privileged location close to the
Sea of Cortez and
the Pacific Ocean , sport
fishing is a very popular activity in Mazatlán.
Dozens of marinas offer group or private fishing tours.
The state of Sinaloa is on the Center and Pacific migratory
route and is therefore one of the best options for duck
and dove hunting.
The
Carnival
The Carnival is the most famous of the entertainment
options in
Mazatlan . If you wish to visit
Mazatlan during the Carnival,
you need to make reservations ahead of time, since this
huge celebration is no secret and people have been coming
for many years.
The
Lighthouse
Located on top of the 152 meter high Creston hill, it
is the highest active lighthouse on a natural elevation
in the world. A brisk 30-minute walk will take you to
the top to admire a 360 degree panorama of the bay,
the Pacific Ocean, the islands, old
Mazatlan and the mountains
that surround the port.
The
Aquarium
One the largest and most complete aquariums in Latin
America, with more than 50 fish tanks and ponds and
over 250 marine animal species. Enjoy the show of the
sea lions and the exotic birds, in addition to its botanical
garden and small zoo. Open
daily 9:30 am to 6:30 pm.
Old
Mazatlan
A reminder of the 19th century cities, 20 blocks of
colonial and Spanish architecture make up a colorful
Historical Center
that is well worth visiting. In front of the Plaza Revolución,
the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, has an eclectic
style both baroque and churrigueresque with two yellow
and blue towers and a variety of colored tiles that
make it lively and attractive.
Three blocks south, Plaza Machado is a charming little
square with a provincial touch, famous for its beauty
and the cafés and restaurants that dot its alleys.
It is also the place of the Angela Peralta theater,
originally built in 1860 and recently restored to give
it back the magnificence and elegance of the great European
theaters of yesteryear. Cultural shows take place there
all year long. The
Archaeological Museum
, with its rich collection of pre-Columbian relics,
can also be found on Plaza Machado.
We
invite you to visit Paseo Olas Altas, where the tourist
development of the area started, and admire its constructions,
full of nostalgic of the 50s and enjoy the beautiful
sunsets that bathe its old coastal road.
The
Market
It
shows the way of life of many locals. It is located
in the heart of the city and offers a great variety
of fresh fish, seafood, meat, fruit, vegetables and
more, in addition to souvenirs made of wood, ceramic,
coconut, seashells, etc
Rock
Island 
You can explore this area of pristine beaches surrounded
by palm trees and mangroves aboard a catamaran, trimaran
or small boats. It is the habitat of protected animal
species, such as iguanas, armadillos, raccoons, pelicans
and herons. It is also close to the excellent Estrella
del Mar golf club.
The
Three Islands
Visiting these islands on a kayak or small boat is a
unique experience due to its natural attractions. The
island of
Chivos and the
island of Venados
are small islets in front of our hotel and are perfect
for diving, snorkeling or kayaking. The
island of
Birds is, as its name tells, the natural refuge of hundreds
of birds.
Concordia
and Copala
Nestled in the Sierra Madre mountains, these two old
mining towns have kept the atmosphere and beauty of
the 16th century towns. Concordia is famous
for the hand-carved wood furniture that is made there.
Copala, with its flowered patios and paved streets,
is the ideal setting for its 400 year old church, located
in the center of the town.
