El Castillo en Chichen Itza

CHICHEN ITZA , the former capital city of the Mayan Empire, is the most important archaeological site in the area. The archaeological site of Chichen Itza covers a 15-km area, the pyramid of Kukulkán is the main monument, it is dedicated to the cult of Kukulcan. It is a monumental pyramid with 4 ornamental facades and 9 bodies and this is where the spring and fall equinoxes can be seen. A phenomenon of light and shade makes it possible to watch the descent of the Plumed Serpent. The Temple of Warriors , the Observatory, the Sacred Cenote and the Ball Game are a few elements of the grandeur of this civilization and this ancient Mayan metropolis.
